Free, accurate salary after tax calculators for every US state.

Our Mission

USPayCalc.com was created with a single goal: to help Americans understand exactly how much money they take home after taxes. Whether you are evaluating a job offer, planning a move to a new state, negotiating a salary, or simply trying to budget your monthly expenses — our calculators give you the clarity you need in seconds.

We believe that understanding your take home pay should be free, instant, and simple. No sign-ups, no accounts, no hidden fees. Just enter your salary, pick your state, and see your results.

What We Offer

USPayCalc provides dedicated salary after tax calculators for all 50 US states plus Washington DC. Each state page includes an interactive calculator with instant results, pre-calculated salary tables from $30,000 to $200,000, hourly wage to annual take home conversions, state vs. neighboring state comparisons, detailed tax explanations specific to that state, and frequently asked questions with real answers.

Our Data Sources

Accuracy is our top priority. All tax rates, brackets, deductions, and calculations on USPayCalc.com are sourced from official government publications:

How Our Calculators Work

Our calculators process all data entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. This means your salary information, filing status, and all other inputs never leave your device — they are never sent to our servers, never stored in any database, and never shared with anyone. Your privacy is preserved by design, not just by policy.

Each calculation applies the 2026 federal progressive tax brackets to your adjusted gross income (after the standard deduction and any pre-tax contributions like 401(k)), then applies your state's specific tax rules (flat rate, progressive brackets, or no tax), and adds FICA taxes (Social Security at 6.2% up to $184,500 + Medicare at 1.45%). The result is your estimated annual, monthly, biweekly, and weekly take home pay.

Update Schedule

We update all calculators annually in January when new federal and state tax rates take effect. Mid-year updates are made if any state passes significant tax legislation. Our current data reflects the 2026 tax year, including changes from the One Big Beautiful Bill passed in 2025.

Important Disclaimer

USPayCalc.com is an informational tool, not a tax preparation or advisory service. Our calculators provide estimates based on standard deductions and common scenarios. Your actual tax liability may differ based on itemized deductions, tax credits, local taxes, self-employment income, investment income, and other factors. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional (CPA, Enrolled Agent, or tax attorney) for personalized advice.
